Preview video and captions

A preview video is separate from the file buyers pay for. It plays on the resource page under the preview pages, and only the first frame loads until someone presses play. The cover picture is used until we make a poster frame from the video.

  • Add it on the edit page under Preview video. Use an MP4, up to 200 MB. Larger files go straight to storage with a progress bar. When conversion is switched on, the form also says which other video types we turn into MP4 for you, free.
  • Every video is scanned for viruses before it can reach the public page. A video that is unfinished, failed or unchecked is never shown.
  • You can remove it any time on the same page.

Captions

Add captions as a WebVTT file that ends in .vtt, up to 256 KB. We check it and rebuild it from the caption lines we understand. Viewers can turn the captions on, which helps anyone who is deaf or hard of hearing, or watching without sound. Add the video first, because captions go with the video and are removed with it.
